CONCRETE SWIMMING POOL CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

Concept Design Construction…

What Steps Are Involved?

See the concrete swimming pool construction process we use that guarantees the smooth, safe and high quality delivery of your dream pool.

Free Site Assessment

To provide you with an accurate quote for your pool construction, we need to meet on site to discuss your requirements. While on site, we note the access, location of your services (storm, sewer pipes) and proposed position of your pool.

This give you an accurate pool construction quote and ensures the safety and efficiency of the work we do for you down the track.

Full SPASA Contract or Queensland Master Builders Contract

Once you are are satisfied with the quote, the next step is to detail everything in the pool contract. We use only the Queensland Master Builders Pool Contract. This document indicates all the aspects of the pool construction process and clearly outlines all the financial aspects of the agreement.

Importantly, the Master Builders contract protects your interests, as you are only required to pay for work once each stage is completed (except for the 5% deposit). It has 6 clearly defined work stages (Deposit + 6 payments)

Engineering and Council Certification & Approvals

We take care of all council approval and engineering for your swimming pool construction project. As soon as we have completed the Master Builders contract, we will immediately lodge all the required documents to have the pool approved, which normally takes approx. 2 weeks.

You will need to provide your Lot and RP numbers (on your rates notice),  a copy of your house site plan and a constructed survey plan (this is helpful, but not essential), and we will do the rest.

Excavation

Once we have received council approval, your swimming pool construction starts with excavation. We will meet  on site, mark out the pool and ensure that you are happy with the positioning and the dimensions of the pool. Once this is confirmed and signed off, we are ready to dig your new swimming pool.

Formwork and Steelwork

All the steelwork used in the pool construction is inspected by engineers prior to the shell being sprayed.

Spraying Concrete Shell

We use 25MPA pool spray concrete to comply with Australian Standard (AS 2783).

Curing Finished Shell

We ensure that the shell cures for 28 days before tiling and the interior finish is applied, to ensure proper adhesion.

Filtration

We will install your external pool plumbing, lighting and filtration during the period in which your pool is curing. Position of filtration is discussed at mark out.

Tiling and Finishes

After the required curing period, the next step is to lay the pool coping tile (the tile on top of the pool), and if you chose one, an internal waterline tileband. A level concrete bed must be laid on the entire pool top to ensure proper levels before coping is laid.

Internal Pebbling & Finishes

Due to the nature of the Pool Fencing laws, it is necessary that the permanent pool fencing is in place before your pool interior finish is applied. Our certifier will approve the fencing prior to this. On the day after the interior pebble is applied in your pool, the pebble crew will acid wash the surface. Once this is completed, you should commence filling the pool.

Hand Over

Once your pool is full, we will do a complete handover, explaining in detail the correct procedures in maintaining your pool chemistry and equipment.

CONGRATULATIONS, You are now ready to enjoy your Dream Pool.
